“ I was sad when Stella Alpina moved out of this space, but Im happy to say that ChouChou is honoring its memory. The food and service is great. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. Our favorite item was the lobster ravioli. My partner said hed be back for the soup. Overall its a win for a fancy dinner out. We paid about 50pp for dinner, and felt it was totally worth it. Looking forward to finding an excuse to come back soon. ”
“ Its been a whole week before I finally had time to write this review! We booked this restaurant on a weekday to celebrate a special occasion. Since we reserved early, we were seated right away. Even by the end of dinner, it wasnt too crowded. They offer a 75 dinner set that includes an appetizer, main, and dessert. As with most Western meals, bread was servednothing too special, but freshly warm and tasty. For starters, we had the French escargot and tuna tartare. Both were good, especially the tartare, which was a standout. For mains, we tried the daily specialtroutand the beef bourguignon. The trout was panfried but still retained a nice, delicate fish flavor, which made it quite memorable. For dessert, we had the creme brulee and molten chocolate cake. The creme brulee was smooth and deliciousdefinitely recommended. The chocolate cake was on the sweet side probably best enjoyed with a strong black coffee. Overall, we were happy with the food quality and the attentive service. A joyful meal and a great evening! ”
“ So happy that Chouchou has opened in Burlingame at the former Stella Alpina location! We ordered the crab and tuna tartar salads. The dressing on the arugula was creamy and delish. I wish it was paired with the crab salad which had greens that were not that interesting. For our mains we ordered the salmon and beef bourguignon. The risotto served with the salmon was amazing. Id request that if possible with the beef bourguignon instead of the mashed potatoes. We had a nice French Bordeaux Red Blend. For dessert we ordered the creme brulee which was good. I was really craving tarte tatin which is not on the menu. They only have wine at this point. Perhaps a liquor license is in the works. We look forward to another visit soon! ”

“ This great little place is so charming, and the staff is so wonderfully attentive, respectful, ready to serve. This was our second visit, and had another couple with us. They were equally impressed with the personal attention that we received. We have attended during the weekend, at 5pm, and didnt have any issues with parking. They have a good wine selection, and if preferred there is a corkage fee available. The manager even remembered us from our first visit, and proceeded to speak a few words that we could understand in French. We had a very pleasant dinner. ”
“ Its great! Really nice service. Dessert was so nice! They have a good amount of portion too! I was very full when I left there. The environment is cozy and its quiet good for a date or anniversary event. ”
“ We had an extraordinary experience with ChouChou for a large family gathering. Ben was incredibly kind and accommodating for our family ages 790! The staff was kind, generous, attentive and discrete. Every need was not only met but exceeded by Ben and the staff. All 22 of us enjoyed every moment of our evening even during a heat wave! And the 90 year old birthday girl felt more celebrated than ever. Every dish was delightful with generous portions from the French onion to the lamb and lobster ravioli and beautifully cooked salmon. Thank you to Ben and the Chou Chou staff for such a wonderful evening and memory. We cant wait to return! If I could give 10 stars for service and food I would! ”
